That would depend on what they consider safe. Seems most of their toys now come with a warning label that they could be fatal if the pets are unsupervised when playing with the toys. I believe that to be true since I gave my puppy on of thier loofah toys and within minutes she pulled out a plastic bag filled with more plastic and the noise maker. I thought you were supposed to keep plastic away from pets (and small children). Also, their rope toy super tug manufactured by aspen looks to have some sort of foil or tinsel in it all from china and when I e-mailed the company I was told that it is the same as in their fresh and floss which is obviously not true. I even showed the rope to a vet friend of mine and her first response was foil or tinsel. So buyer beware and please always watch your pets with their toys you just never know what is in them.

And what kind of test kit did the author buy and use? Pray tell it isn't one of those OTC kits you can buy in hardware stores - you know, the ones with a very low rate of accuracy.

And the comment, "We have a technical services group, which is headed by a Ph.D., and includes veterinarians and analysts who manage the quality. They keep close to these issues," really, REALLY makes me feel warm and fuzzy and SOOOOO assured.

Deja vu, anyone?

Bet their holiday sales are slumping and this is a rally to boost them. [Fat chance.]

I agree everything is from china and its dangerous. I think I would rather pay a little more money and by stuff made in the USA. now where do we find it. every time I pick up clothes, rugs, dog toys, childrens toys made in china. i threw out my dogs rubber toys all of them and now just got rid of her lead based ceramic dog dish. she is eating on a Corell plate of mine Made in the USA. we have to do some internet searches and find some american made stuff. If anyone finds any please post. those people are out to kill us I think.

And if they're testing, why are they selling bad dog toys, bad cat toys, and still lots of bad food? Wonder what lie they'll make up to cover this one?

Wow, a PH.D. Imagine that... Oh and Analysts whee... Lots of those in other companies without college degrees... it is a catchy title don't you think? If it were a bank, it could be "Vice President" which translates into a person who works holidays, overtime, and weekends on a flat salary.

Was that PH.D. in Sociology, Theology, or Phys Ed? By itself, the title is irrelevant unless the main field of study pertained to this area.

And what expensive lab equipment EXACTLY does the PetsMart lab have that is certified adequate to detect proper levels of the toxins and are the personnel properly trained and third party certified in those toxin detection procedures?
