http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_9000
'ISO does not itself certify organizations. Many countries have formed accreditation bodies to authorize certification bodies, which audit organizations applying for ISO 9001 compliance certification.".......Sounds like a loop de loop there!

"In contrast to the Capability Maturity Model there are no grades of competence within ISO 9001.".........that's reassuring!

"The various accreditation bodies have mutual agreements with each other to ensure that certificates issued by one of the Accredited Certification Bodies (CB) are accepted world-wide."..........I'll bet they do

I am glad to see that all the great people at and visiting Itchmo, howl911 and petconnection.com are not letting this go away. Great questioning. I too had the same questions today and though I realize warehouses are not necesarily the most tidy environments, what was seen on the video clip was a bit frightening to say the least. With that being the apparent status quo of how products are 'warehoused' and not only food products, but pharmaceuticals and non-food products - which also often offered for export by the same company and probably 'warehoused' in the same location - I can see it now all being blamed on accidental cross contamination. So sorry, they'll all say, it was an accident. All in pursuit of a $ (or an RMB or Euro or ...) I didn't notice that any of those sacks which were visible in the film clip had any labeling on them (though I could be wrong here).

Just so you know, today's Wall Street Journal print version had a lengthy article about a bi-partisan effort in Congress to back pending new free trade agreements with Asia and South America. Title of article: "Pelosi Places Big Bet on Trade". Perfect timing, huh?
