Randy Jackson: A Dawg That Saves Cats
Randy Jackson may be most well known for being a judge on “American Idol” and calling everyone “dawg”. But this dawg also has a heart for cats.
Jackson and Morris the Cat kicked off the Million Cat Rescue in September 2006. Since their kick off, over 400,000 cats have been adopted from shelters nationwide.
This cross-country tour is traveling to 34 cities across the country, stopping at shelters, retailers and events to encourage individuals and families to adopt cats.
“Dawg, I’m telling you dude, this is a crisis – too many cats need homes,†Jackson said. “The good news is that many have been adopted as Morris (and his trainers) travel around the country promoting adoption.â€
Jackson adopted the first cat in the march toward one million adopted cats. He named the cat Dawg.
As for Jackson’s Idol counterparts, he has some suggestions for them if they adopt shelter animals.
“Paula [Abdul] could use a big dog that, so she doesn’t trip over it (in May, Paula tripped over her chihuahua and broke her nose and toe). Ryan (host of American Idol, Ryan Seacrest) needs a chinchilla. A furry thing to fuss over that kind of looks like him.†As for judge Simon Cowell, “That’s easy – a donkey.â€

Great stuff right there! I am very happy to hear that he is involved in this good cause, not because of his status but because it is what is is.
Refreshing to hear good news, sad part is you will not see much of it in the news just the bad things people do to animals. :-(
