FDA suggesting " leaving pet nutrition to professionals" has to be the biggest joke I ever heard! I should believe and trust what the "professionals" tell me? would that be the same professionals that sold me dog food that made my dog sick and was never recalled. My dog could have died, for all they care.

My dog has been eating home cooked meals since March 28. She is now healthier than ever and now a suvivor of cont. food. Why on earth would I go back to PFI dog food? just to make the greedier richer, I don't think so. Have we ever heard them acknowledge a problem and say they were sorry -NO.
And, now reading that promises of covering bills of pet parents are being denied and/or ignored. The FDA has to be kidding!

Maybe Mr Acheson and Mr Sandloff are not equiped to make food for their pets, but I think most pet parents could now do a better job than anyone remotely associated with PFI or the FDA or the USDA. I think their only concern - what to do with all the "junk" they used to feed to pets that they now need to find room for in some landfill and pay a hefty bill.

"the FDA’s suggestion that pet food nutrition is best left to professionals." Yeah, pet owners did that and thats how we ended up with dead and sick pets. I guess he considers the 4-D's garbage as nutritional.

A CDC for pets is a pipe dream to get pet owners hopes up. Just another spin.

Sundlof was nothing but fluff and a PR interview to make himself look good.

(I still want to know why my pet died after eating unrecalled dry dog food.)

Are the recalls over? That's it. Nothing has been said about the dry dog food that has made pets sick or died. Just sweep it under the rug.

Now enter Acheson. Obviously another "Spin Artist" already denying accountability, feigning the ignorance of one "newly arrived on the scene" and the usual vague and transparent promises of reform.

Yadda-Yadda-Yadda. Yeah, we've seen and heard it all before.

End result: More stonewalling and foot dragging in an attempt to wear everyone out, to make it more of a chore to try and keep up with "new developments" that will be available nowhere, to the point of exasperation.

Many people will give up in disgust. This is what they are counting on, and this is precisely how they do it!

Sundlof says ".....the FDA’s suggestion that pet food nutrition is best left to professionals....." And that would be? The large PF companies? Is that who you are referring to? Oh puuuullllllllleeeeeezzzzzzzz......the last people on this Earth that I would call professionals are the jokers at the large PF companies. They know how to put waste into PF & call it "well balanced". My vote would go to pet parents at this time.....they are putting together well-balanced meals FOR REAL. Too bad the PF companies never really cared about nutrition when it comes to our pets & it's pretty obvious they just don't care that their waste, excuse me, I mean pet food, has caused all this sickness & death.

It disturbs me greatly that the FDA is getting away with the cover-up of the petfood/peoplefood contamination! Very few news outlets seem willing to cover the stories. Here is one online news source that is beginning to get up-to-speed about the problem.
