This is awful!
I lost a cat years ago and in my rounds of checking the shelters and the neighborhood, I was assured over and over that if my pet’s dead body was found, they would scan it, find the microchip and let me know so I’d have closure. My cat never came home and I never received a phone call from anyone about him. I was devastated. Now I wonder if they did find him and just never bothered to scan him or find me.

I personally have no problem if they dispose of the dead animals in a safe and environmentally correct fashion. Dumping them in a holler, creek bed, or in the water table area is NOT okay. Taking them to a rendering plant IS okay.

This is deplorable. Covert, dispicable actions that are “acceptable.” No respect for living creatures.

That said, I’m going to make more people angry when they hear that some shelters sell carcasses to rendering plants and even fertilizer companies.

If the thought of this happening to YOUR pet isn’t enough to make you keep your pet indoors or on a leash when outdoors with you, I don’t know what is.

G in INdiana…guess what..it’s happening here too. I know someone who lived in Parke Co. that disposed of Euthanized animals in the “holler”…got paid per carcass by the vet!!! ..now that’s sick!

I wonder how much wildlife…..Eagles, foxes, ETC have died from eating the remains of the abandoned and euthanized pets that were so coldly and ignorantly dumped at that “Pet Cemetary”. How stupid can you be? Charges should be brought up and pursued on ALL counts. There is no excuse for this.

The environmental damage this does is just beyond imagining. All it takes is one diseased, rotting animal carcass to poison that creek. The water in that creek might be used for livestock watering, irrigation, or even human consumption. If I lived below that creek bed you can believe I would be on the phone to the California EPA PDQ.

I read about this on PetConnection, it’s so sad. I guess that’s what happened to Quinn, who knows, maybe they will find out. No respect for animals or pet parents.

Not on topic but I heard on tv that all BUT ONE of Vic’s dogs can be saved. It’s up to the judge now of what to do with them.
