There is a lot of sad people around, I believe all these people that blame Lulu's and Jade's owner surely keep their pets in security cases where it is impossible under any circumstances that the pet could ever run away, not even when owner opens door. Maybe all of those people could provide one of those safety devices to the owner in question and then she won’t ever go through this traumatic situation as we all know is to lose one of our dear companions.
Also the fact that Jade crashed one of the kittens is not an unusual occurrence, some dogs will also EAT some of their puppies if there is not enough milk for all etc.
So, I pray for all of the pets owned by all these sad people that are so mean about Lulu's and Jade's owner.
This is the sweetest story I ever heard.
PS: I am agnostic

Why do people always see the bad in things? I think this is amazing. The mother cat must have been used to going outside - after all, she got pregnant. It may have been very hard to keep her inside. Still, all the kittens could have died and the dog I'm sure didn't mean to crush one. The fact that this beautiful dog, that so many people are afraid of and talk bad about (along with Pitbulls) is so gentle and loving. And yes, I agree, people could learn from this big time but then I always think people can learn from animals. People - don't always look at the negative. I'm a cat lover; just got two new kittens myself. I keep my cats indoors but not everybody does. I'm just happy they are getting some "doggy" love!!! The pet owner isn't bad - she's feeding them okay?

I cannot help but wonder why this woman let her cat, who had a litter of kittens, out to be hit by a car in the first place.

I just wish the cat owner would have kept her inside with her kittens where it was safe. Poor thing.

Where is the responsible pet ownership here? This story is a tragedy, but for the pets, not the owner. The cat's allowed to run loose, neither animal is fixed and the dog crushes one of the kittens? My take - get those animals away from that owner before any more die! At the very least, some serious education is in order.

Perhaps the sad family learned a lesson, keep your cat INside and you won't end up with a dead one.

The dogs reaction to the kittens needing mothering says it all. What a wonderful doggie with such tender and caring love. She obviously was upset about the mama cat missing and knew that the babies would die without her. So intelligent!
