I think all dogs should be spayed and neutered, under the exception that someone makes a agreements to breed them. Although most people believe pit bulls are the problem and it's really not it's their owner always is.Pit bulls are wonderful family pets.To stop breeding them or whatever you decide to do is wrong!!!

I agree that with all breeds strilization should be required. Like coffee, you dont grow it but you can go to a place where they have it available for purchase. If all the standard owners had spayed and neutered animals, then they could still go to a LICENSED breeder if another lovely pet is what they wanted.

I think it should be mandatory for all breeds. Many shelters don't let animals go out the door without being spayed or neutered. It is certainly preferrable to euthanizing.

Is this really the case [fewer Pit Bulls in animal shelters nowadays due to sterilization] OR are dog fight financiers just getting smarter and killing and burying the dogs in their back yards?

Well of course if you neuter a bunch of animals you are going to get fewer unwanted ones in the shelter. If the laws are not supposed to be breed specific, why not implement this great idea for every breed. Fewer inmates in the shelter of all breeds would eventually result in no need for shelters, or at least greatly reduce the numbers. That would pretty much put puppy mills out of business (a good reason in itself). You would need the same legislation in all states, provinces or the puppy mills would just move next door. You could try having certain kennels that have small numbers of pups, and high standards of care operate only under a license.

It's pretty much a sure bet that his "pit bulls" encompass any short haired blocky headed dog.

too bad Bad Rap actually helped write the law, and were warned about the consequences Reynolds now bemoans
