Second Part Of FDA’s Food Safety Hearing Rescheduled For July 17

The second hearing of the House Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations: “Diminished Capacity: Can the FDA Assure the Safety and Security of the Nation’s Food Supply?” – Part 2 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, July 17 at 9:30am in room 2123 Rayburn House Office Building.

During Part I of the Food Safety hearing in April, Paul Henderson, CEO of Menu Foods and Stephen Miller of ChemNutra testified before the subcommittee. At this second hearing, the FDA will be testifying.

If you want to send comments or questions to the subcommittee, you can fax Congressman and Chairman of Oversight & Investigations Subcommittee Mark Stupak at his fax number: (202) 225-4744. You can also fax questions or concerns to Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro at her fax number: (202) 225-4890 (she is not on the subcommittee, but she has been very vocal and public regarding her dissatisfaction with FDA officers).

(Thanks Mike)

I’ve been waiting for this. Almost gave up hope of them doing it at all. I will be watching this for sure. Thanks for the heads up! Is there a link to this hearing somewhere or will it be on CSPAN?

I hope Don Earl has some REAL pointed questions he can have asked.

The senate better wire the lying FDA up to a polygraph and keep a cattle prod handy, they are experienced liars with very bad memories. I believe homeland security has methods that improve the memory of reluctant witnesses and since those methods are being used on folks who homeland security says are a danger to this country, well, the FDA qualifies on that score, don’t they?

We are all sure getting screwed over worse by the FDA and the pet food companies than by Osama Bin Laden these days!
