Authorities removed 12 pit bulls from rapper DMX’s house on August 24. Several dog bodies were also dug up from the property during the raid.
As investigators have been looking into animal neglect allegations, two bodies of dogs that were found buried at the home have serious wounds.
One had bite wounds and the other had trauma to its abdomen, but the exact causes of death have not been determined. A third dog body had been burned so badly that an exam did not result in any conclusions.
As of yet, no charges have been filed against DMX or anyone else.
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said that someone will pay for these cases of animal abuse and neglect.
DMX’s lawyer said that DMX was not at home and hadn’t been at the Phoenix-area property for months. He said that a caretaker and veterinarian were taking care of the dogs.
He added: “How do you attribute activities to a person who has not been there, when they have knowledge that other persons have been. Is it because of the celebrity nature?”
