Ozzy, a German shepard, was going to be euthanized for biting a boy, but a correctional facility wanted to give Ozzy a second chance and use him as a patrol dog. His fate depended on if the judge would overturn the euthanization order.
On Monday, a judge in the case decided not to euthanize Ozzy and instead he will spend the rest of his life in the custody of Delaware County Corrections Department. He will be moving to his new home soon and will work as a patrol dog with no contact with the public or inmates. His owner has given up all rights to Ozzy, but she will be able to visit him.
