I think that the dogs should come in front of media. Nothing good will come out of from the so called “Show”. If they have to rehab the dogs, then they should do it quietly.

Dogs tend to be poorer than wolves and coyotes at observational learning, being more responsive to instrumental conditioning. Feral dogs show little of the complex social structure or dominance hierarchy present in wolf packs. For dogs, other members of their kind are of no help in locating food items, and are more like competitors.

I’m so sick of these jerks claiming they’re really sorry and are going for drug rehabilitation. And, oh by the way, he’s suddenly found Jesus? Please, give me a break. I hope he gets singled out for more than fights.

The drug rehabilitation was explained in an earlier story as a way for Vick to get out earlier. Showing up at court with a positive drug test is a great way to give this more credence. Sadly, he will get away with this and probably somehow get more time off for “good behavior.” The positive part of this story is that the dogs are now being well taken care of and can become better adjusted members of society than Vick ever could. Best wishes to the dogs.

sadly the sentencing guidelines call for a much much short time in jail.

Best Friends sanctuary is being featured on National Geographic’s Dogtown. It makes sense for them to photograph the dogs and their facility and help them raise money. They have done tremendous good works for these dogs and for the Katrina rescues. Many shelter won’t even consider pit bulls, let alone fighting pit bulls.

Vick doesn’t have a drug problem. I hope by the time he is out of Leavenworth he does. It would be karma.

I really wish these dogs were not put up for the media to frenz upon. Nothing good will come out of a “show” of the “poor dogs owned by big bad rich man”.

if they can rehab the dogs, then do so in peace. If they can’t they cant. but i guarantee that there will be more interest in these dogs JUST BECAUSE of their quazi celebrity status.

Drug rehab is simply another gimmick to get this guy out sooner. Imagine there are many prisoners with drug issues much more deserving of treatment. (Not sounding very charitable, am I?)
I hate what this man has done and I hate that the system is failing those dogs so badly. And I hate that others will see what amounts to a “slap on the wrist” and figure they can go on fighting dogs like MV.

Drug treatment? Does he have a drug problem? Or is he just trying to stay away from general population?

It will be good to see the dogs, though. Puts a face to the truth and shows what kind of monsters Vick and others like him are.

Drug rehab. Should be in some kind of “humanity rehab” since that’s where he obviously needs the help.
