Woman Rescues Abused Cat
A Milwaukee woman caught a group of children trying to abuse a four-month-old kitten by hanging her off a bridge. The children ran off and the woman was able to rescue the cat.
She brought the kitten to the Wisconsin Humane Society. The vets said that the kitten was visibly distressed but suffered no injuries due to the woman’s quick action to save the kitten. He has been named Pike and will be available for adoption in the next few days.
More on the investigation after the jump.
From myfoxmilwaukee.com:
Animal abuse is against the law in Wisconsin. If the children who were tormenting Pike are found, they could be charged with misdemeanor abuse.
Humane Society officials say they pay close attention to animal abuse cases. They say the evidence of a link between cruelty to animals and violence toward humans is compelling. In fact, people who abuse animals are five times more likely to commit violent crimes.

Thank you for rescuing the kitten. You should have pushed the kids off the bridge. That would have saved tax payers million for their crimes of the future.0 tolerance for abuse. Humans ,I am not sure of “what” purpose they serve. If you read the news papers, or watch tv,looks like the purpose is to destroy the world and all living beings.

I think the kids and their parents should be seriously investigated and observed for the next 20 years. It may very well save the lives of future victims of these kids turned murderers.

Sounds like felony abuse to me. If they hung another kid off a bridge they’d be in deep dirt. The law makers have to start getting it. Abusing living beings is abusing living beings. I don’t care about genus/species. It’s abuse!

What awful children. I would be ashamed if they were mine. The sad thing is that I know of people who had parents that encouraged them to mistreat cats. They actually thought it was funny. What sick people. I’m not a dog lover, but I would never dream of torturing them. I hope the lady can identify the children - they need some extreme mental treatment.

The best punishment would be to do the children what they were doing to the cat. I realized of course that this is inhumane and anyone caught doing that would go to jail - exactly what should happen to anyone caught abusing animals.

Wow! Terrific! I agree with Donna, Gary, Roberto, JennyG, and Lisa. ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ANY TYPE OF ANIMAL ABUSE. Our gov’t has got to wake up!! I’m so tired of reading these abuse stories and no punishment being done to these sick people or kids.

Those kids have a great future in the US military. Just the type they are looking for to “liberate” other countries.

Parents of those kids have to be imprisoned.Bcoz they are the root cause for those kids making such an illegal thing. While they bring up their child, they should say that animals are like Human beings. So treat them friendly. Those kids have to be punished severly. I can’t bare this thing bcoz am a Pet lover.

Yes, indeed, one of the “children” might actually grow up to be a U.S. president some day. After all–fact–the current occupant of the White House got his kicks blowing up frogs when he was in his teens. Nice, Mr. President. No wonder, you don’t give a wrap about our children coming home in body bags.
