I really hate the way some people react to certain stories. Kaefamily says that the dog probably needs to be put down. Whether or not the dog was acting excited and aggressive because he was trying to warn his owner or because he is "out of control", doesn't make a difference to me. What matters is that his actions SAVED his owners life. Besides, Rofle said Saba was acting completely out of character when he became excited and aggressive. I highly doubt that automatically means that he is "out of control." By the way in reference to Kaefamily's other remark of "we intelligent humans are sadly incapable of understanding our pets' language," I know plenty more dogs that act more intelligently than humans do.

This is an education for all the people who assume because dogs are of a certain breed, they are automatically dangerous. GOOD DOG, SABA.

"Rofle was trying to cover the barbecue grill when Saba started to become excited and aggressive. She said it was completely out of character for Saba."

That could be misinterpreted as a dog that is out of control. Hence needed to be put down. And it was all because we intelligent humans are sadly incapable of understanding our pets' language.

In any event, this story and many others about the heroisms of GSDs give a balance to all the negative press this breed has been enduring.
